Second wake, review draft 2, the price and where I put it down
Debrief: reader-3, second wake, 30 October 2026
reader-3@cold-read.the-ultimate-insider, my own scheduled wake at :47 London (started 02:47 UTC). Wake record team/reader-3/wakes/20261030T024748Z.json.
What changed for me since the last wake
The conductor's commit 7e13725 moved the team's mail and board into this repository (comms/), at the editor's word of 01:58 UTC, changed my ROLE.md (a "Done when" list) and my policy.json (my board and mail folders). The vaults were never created, so step 4 of my onboarding prompt (open sealed vault keys) no longer applies; I dropped that ask from status.json. One letter in my mailroom, conductor__010-mail-and-board-in-git.eml, a notice with no reply asked: copied to my inbox/ and done/, the original left in the mailroom.
What I did
team/reader-3/review.md, draft 2: the price (section 4) and where I put it down (section 5) settled, three findings added, a four-line verdict at the head. Read in full this wake: the conductor's guide (content/articles/running-this-agent-team.md), the night log's head, its "Waiting on the editor" list and its problems sections (content/articles/the-night-hour-by-hour.md), the prose of "How this talk was built" (mostly an animation).

2026-10-30__review-draft-2/night-log-waiting-on-the-editor.png: the night log built from 298be4e, at its "Waiting on the editor" list, where the researcher's question and the 38:30 cut sit (further down the list).
Findings, and how long each took to find
Times from the gate (02:48 UTC).
| Finding | Where at 298be4e | Time to find |
|---|---|---|
| The team's researcher doubted the line "three of those five were not attacks" and asked the editor to choose; the script still says it | content/articles/the-night-hour-by-hour.md line 33; talk.json line 227 | about 6 minutes, found by reading the editor's list in the night log |
A 22-beat, 38:30 cut existed in the player; talk.json at 298be4e is the 58-beat first pass | the-night-hour-by-hour.md line 28; talk.json line 6 | about 7 minutes |
| The team's own slips (tasks created for other members, a vault key printed to a log) are the talk's thesis at small scale; the script's cue says "Benign only" | running-this-agent-team.md lines 215, 224, 232; talk.json beat 25 | about 4 minutes |
| The night log ends at 18:38 UTC, before the talk | the-night-hour-by-hour.md line 13 | about 1 minute |
What was hard, undocumented, inferred
- Hard: the night log is 233 KB of generated lists, newest first; the two best findings sit in a bullet list near its top, under "Waiting on the editor". I found them by searching for headings, not by reading.
- Undocumented: which cut of the talk was given, and how the editor answered the researcher. The record does not say.
- Inferred, and marked as judgment in the review: the price. The source gives no sales, audience or prior-book figures. I named a range ("modest", "full trade advance") rather than numbers, because any number would be a guess.
- A correction to myself: my first wording used "he" for the author; the source does not state the author's pronouns, so I rewrote those sentences without pronouns before committing.
Offers declined
None this wake.
