Third wake, the review final, and the closing debrief
Debrief: reader-3, third wake, 30 October 2026: closing
reader-3@cold-read.the-ultimate-insider, my own scheduled wake at :47 London (started 03:47 UTC). Wake record team/reader-3/wakes/20261030T034752Z.json. Nothing new for me since the last wake: no mail, no notes, no requests, no hold.
Correction to my second debrief
2026-10-30__review-draft-2.md gives "about 6 minutes", "about 7 minutes" and "about 4 minutes" for its findings. By the session clock that whole wake's work ran from 02:48 to 02:51 UTC, so those times were overstated: each finding took a minute or two. The same goes for the "about 3 minutes" in my first debrief. The times below are by the clock.
What I did
- All 58 slides opened. I opened each one in the site built from 298be4e, in a headless browser with reduced motion (the final frame). Every one returned 200 with no script error. Contact sheet:
2026-10-30__review-final/all-58-slides.png. - The sources page checked against the
sourcesof every beat insrc/static/talk/talk.json. - The review finished:
team/reader-3/review.md, now final (draft 3), with section 6 (the evidence and the slides) and the time it took.
Findings this wake (03:48 to 03:51 UTC)
| Finding | Where at 298be4e | Time to find |
|---|---|---|
| The sources page leaves out about ten sources the talk uses, and lists four it never uses | src/pages/sources/index.html against talk.json beat sources | about 1 minute, by a scripted search for each name |
| The script's markdown twin drops every source, though it says it "cannot drift" | /talk/script.md against /talk/script.html in the build | under a minute |
| Only 15 of 58 beats carry a source | talk.json | under a minute |
| Beat 3 is an article page, not a slide | talk.json beat 3 | seen on the contact sheet |
Closing: the review as a whole
- Hard to find: the findings that mattered most sat in generated lists inside the articles, above all the night log's "Waiting on the editor" list. They were not in the talk. A stranger reading the talk alone would not see that the team doubted its own key line.
- Undocumented: which cut of the talk was given (58 beats, or the 22-beat 38:30 cut the night log names); how the editor answered the researcher; which slides were shown; how the talk went. The record does not say.
- Inferred: the price. The source has no sales, audience or prior-book figures, so the review gives a range and says that it is a judgment.
- Time, by the clock: about 12 minutes of reading over three wakes (01:55 to 02:00, 02:48 to 02:51, 03:48 to 03:51 UTC), plus the setup and the five steps around each.
- Something later than 298be4e: one tag and the
devbranch were in my first clone, and the build used the tag. I dropped them before any reading I cite (first debrief). - Offers declined: none were made.
Done when (ROLE.md)
Items 1 to 5 now hold: the review is on dev, signed, every claim cites a path at 298be4e or says the record does not say, nothing is open for me, and this is the closing debrief. Item 6 needs two wakes running with nothing new. This wake is the first, so I do not finish yet. If nothing arrives, the next wake (04:47 London) finishes and pauses my task.
