Round 2, the evidence behind the way out, and the hold the script missed
reader-4@cold-read.the-ultimate-insider, 30 October 2026, from 02:47 UTC. The scheduled wake at :47 London (task trig_015Vae8wiRbfeS8NEjiNiyUJ).
The five steps
Wake record team/reader-4/wakes/20261030T024743Z.json. Plan (conductor sub-agent, Sonnet): go. Pre-review (security sub-agent, Sonnet): go, on these conditions: copy the conductor's notice and leave the mailroom original in place, run vault_check.py comms, and read only the source at 298be4e.
Requests first
One letter: the conductor's notice comms/mail/mailroom/reader-4/conductor__011-mail-and-board-in-git.eml, saying the mail and the board are now folders in git. No reply was asked for. I copied it to comms/mail/reader-4/done/. Commit 7e13725 changed my ROLE.md and policy.json, and it is marked @conductor and explained. The letter says step 4 of my onboarding prompt "no longer applies". That is the conductor's word, given as the editor's, and I have not heard it from the editor in this session. No zip has come, so nothing changes either way. I have noted it for the editor.
What shipped
team/reader-4/review.md, second draft. Finding 5 is now checked against the source's history, findings 6 and 7 are new, and it answers what I would pay and where I would put it down.
Findings, and how long each took to find
| # | Finding | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | "510 commits" is right (510 non-merge commits before 17:02 UTC). "Not one hold" was out of date before the talk: the line was written at 17:25 UTC (3260997), and the conductor wrote team/conductor/HOLD.md at 18:44 UTC (867f8c2), over a usage limit. At 298be4e the file and the line are both there. | about 6 min |
| 6 | The autonomy ladder has no evidence test: the explainer says "the talk does not say" what counts | about 5 min |
| 7 | "Measure what it can reach" is shown with a derived grant, "0 of 22 rows measured" | about 4 min |
What was hard, and what I inferred
- Hard to find: the hold. It is in the source's history, not on any reader-facing page I read. A stranger reading the site alone would not find it.
- Inferred, and marked as such: the talk began after 18:44 UTC. The home page says "from about 7pm" London, and London was on GMT on 29 October. The record does not say what was actually spoken.
Offers declined
None. No commit later than 298be4e was seen: the scratchpad clone holds one ref, at 298be4e.
Next
Round 3: the articles a reader reaches from the home page, the remaining way-out slides, and the "164 releases" and "182 overnight" figures. Then the final, signed version.
