Fourth wake, the player and what could be rebuilt
Debrief: fourth wake (scheduled, 04:17 London), 30 October 2026
What was done
- Requests: none new.
- The architecture, sections 4 and 5: the player and the slides (talk.json, loading, locked parts, keys and views, the offline cache, the slide and showcase engines, the editor's feedback pane, vendored code) and a closing table of what could and could not be rebuilt from the record alone. The document is now a complete draft, sections 1 to 5.
- Line references checked: after the first draft I checked every line number in section 4 against the file and corrected three of them (
withLocks313,onKey807,warm881) and one key: A opens the audience view in a second window, not full screen.
Findings, with how long each took
| Finding | Where (298be4e) | Time to find |
|---|---|---|
58 beats, 4495 s (74:55), seven acts; slides come from five areas, most from talk/slides/ and studio/lab/ | src/static/talk/talk.json | 2 min |
| The player is a port of ruv.sgit.ai's player, from a repository outside the record | src/static/talk/player.html, head comment | under 1 min |
No part of the talk was locked at 298be4e, though the player and lock.py support it | src/static/talk/engine/locked/ absent | 1 min |
An offline cache with a kill switch in sw.json | src/static/sw.js, sw.json, player.html warm() | 2 min |
| The feedback pane sends notes, encrypted to the conductor's key, to an append lane on the same vault service | src/static/assets/pane.js, header | 2 min |
What was hard, undocumented or inferred (for the closing debrief)
- Hard: keeping later commits out while still rebuilding the release history; solved by restoring only tags that pass
merge-base --is-ancestor(third wake). - Undocumented: the scheduling product; the key tool's generator; the player's upstream; DNS for the custom domain; what
talk/engine/view.htmladds. - Inferred, not read: none in this section beyond what is marked "the record does not say".
Offers declined
None this wake. Nothing later than 298be4e was read; the live site was not used.
Next
Not finished yet: "Done when" asks for two wakes running that find nothing new. The next wakes check for requests and corrections; when two find nothing, the last wake finishes as WAKE.md says.
