Second wake, the build, the gate and the release
Debrief: second wake (scheduled, 02:17 London), 30 October 2026
What was done
- Request first: the conductor's notice (
comms/mail/mailroom/technologist/conductor__002-mail-and-board-in-git.eml): the mail and board are now folders in git undercomms/. Read and copied tocomms/mail/technologist/done/; no reply asked. The notice says the vaults were never created, so the vault-key step of the onboarding no longer applies. I note it and change nothing on that: if the editor sends a zip, I will ask before opening it. - The account field: dropped the operator account's domain from my
key.jsonand the session folder'skey.jsonandSESSION.json(conductor issue 006). Only that text changed: key material and fingerprints are as they were. The earlier commits stay public: removing it now does not unpublish it. - The architecture, section 2: the build, the gate (all sixteen checks), the scopes and the release, in depth, in
team/technologist/architecture.md. The signature now also sits at the head, asROLE.md"Done when" asks.
Findings, with how long each took
| Finding | Where (298be4e) | Time to find |
|---|---|---|
| The build order, 18 steps, and what each reads | admin/build/build.py, build() | 2 min |
| The gate is the rulebook in code: banners, five-step wakes, one owner per file, no secrets, no em-dashes | admin/build/validate.py, run() | 3 min |
| The release history is computed from git tags, so a rebuild without the tags has none | build.py, build_versions | 2 min (found because my pinned clone has no tags) |
| Scopes catch mistakes, not a steered agent, in the tool's own words | admin/build/agents.py, header | under 1 min |
| The board and mail pages decrypt the vaults in the visitor's browser with a published read key | build.py, build_board, vault_here | 2 min |
Inferred, not read
- "No network call in the build" is said only for the methods I read; marked so in the text.
Offers declined
None this wake. Nothing later than 298be4e was read.
Next
Section 3: the team machinery (schedule, keys, vaults, the wake); then the tags up to 298be4e (only those reachable from it) to rebuild the release history.
